The 2026 HMHS Boys Tennis season is underway. As of this writing, the team holds a solid record of thirteen wins and three losses. Haddonfield is at the top of the Colonial Conference with hopes that they can carry this momentum for the remainder of the season. Their upcoming schedule consists of eight additional matches, two of which are within our Colonial Conference, against Haddon Township and West Deptford. Both of these matches will be played on the opponent’s home courts. Senior Drew Brand believes the remaining matches will be competitive and is feeling positive about Haddonfield’s capability. Brand shares, “I am very excited for our match against Township, they are good rivals. Same with West Deptford, [there is] a lot of skill on that team, I’m excited to see what will happen.” Matches against Moorestown Friends and Haverford teams with extremely deep rosters will give players lower down in the rankings a chance to prove themselves against higher competition.
Senior Drew Cataldo, a JV captain on the team, is pleased with the way newer players are refining their skills and developing into future role players. Cataldo shares,“I’ve definitely seen plenty of growth within many of our tennis players, especially in confidence being on the court.”
Junior Kyle Faulk attributes the team’s wins to the hard work the team has put in during practice, sharing, “Our team’s consistent matches are paying off.” The team looks forward to the rest of their season improving by the day. They hope that consistent practices and matches can develop upcoming roleplayers into key aspects of the team.
The team is looking for a season of growth as they hope to develop younger players into key contributors. With excellent matches right around the corner, come support the team at Centennial Courts, or come to any of our away matches.
