On Friday, June 5th, Haddonfield Memorial High School held the last event of the school year: Arts in the Courtyard. Letting students leave their classes to celebrate, this event was a gathering of school clubs and performance groups to celebrate various forms of arts, including music, painting, pottery, jewelry, face paint, henna, flower crowns, and many more. This event was held in the A-Courtyard of the school, which offered a stage for performances, around twenty club stands, and places for people to relax and eat as they walked around. This day was a great opportunity for students to catch a break from school before starting their finals, while also appreciating the arts the clubs offer.
Performances also took place, which were held at the front of the courtyard. A variety of groups performed during the day, including choir groups, dance groups, and instrumental bands. This allowed many skilled musicians, singers, and dancers to showcase their talents during this event. Many classes also performed an array of acts, having almost twenty people on stage together for these shows. Some subjects, like Spanish, had multiple classes combined to reenact the Bad Bunny concert from the Super Bowl. Other classes, like Ms. Wesley’s 6th period Pre-Calc class, created and performed a math-related song by alternating the lyrics to a Drake song, “NOKIA.” Overall, students throughout the school united through performances, creating stronger connections between classes and group members.
