Getting to Know Mr. Eiding, the New Dean of Students

Naveen Khan, Staff Writer

Mr. Eiding, the new Dean of Students, grew up around Medford and moved to Haddon Heights to raise his family there.

At Shawnee High School, he was a teacher and club advisor. When he saw the position posted, he knew that it was “the right move” to get to work with teachers and meet with students. Another reason was the different kinds of extracurricular activities and opportunities for students at HMHS. He genuinely cares for students and knows that it is a place to learn, grow, and make mistakes. Over the past month, he has gotten to know the students and has been able to recognize them in the hallways. He also saw the job as an opportunity to get to work with teachers. A few goals he has for this year are to learn and grow in his role and to impact the school differently. He wants to know how things work in a new school environment and learn more about how to get things done.

A few things that Mr. Eiding wants his students to know about him are that he is a Philadelphia sports fan, specifically the Eagles. He also loves music, and he has a daughter.
