The Haddonfield Memorial High School girl’s tennis team has an overall record of 9-3 and 6-0 in the Colonial conference. As of October 5, the team has won 9 of their last 10 matches, with 4 games coming up in the next five days against Gateway (10/6), Pinelands (10/7), Collingswood (10/8), and Lindenwold (10/10). There are 16 seniors this season and 4 captains. The captains include Reese Titton, Marlina Kadar, Mia Swiecicki, and Addison Super. The head coach, Mr. Holman, is leading the team to another spectacular season.
Marlina Kadar stated, “The season is going very well so far! We recently celebrated Coach Holman’s 2,500th win. We had coverage from local news stations – Fox and ABC that covered this milestone. We are the number one seed for South Jersey heading into the playoffs with our first playoff game on October 7th. Coach Holman attended the state singles tournament with Mia Swiecicki and the state doubles tournament with Addi Super and Megan Washburn this weekend. Our coach is focused on having us play good, competitive matches in the coming week and making sure we’re fine-tuning our game for the playoffs!”
A sophomore singles player, Natalie McCool, also shares, “Holman has been an incredible coach, always there to help us grow as a team and as players. Our team continues in the first seat of the colonial conference, hoping to finish the year with our 24 consecutive wins in sectionals.”
Looking ahead, the girl’s tennis team will compete in the Colonial Conference Tournament on October 11-12 and in the South Jersey Interscholastic Championships on October 18-19.
