Following last year’s 28-6 victory over The Thundering Herd of Woodbury, the Haddonfield Bulldawgs were faced with The Herd once again. Saturday, September 23 was a muddy day for football, but that didn’t stop the Dawgs. Haddonfield came out victorious once again, finishing the game with a 21-6 win over the 2022 Group 1 State Champions. This proved Haddonfield’s strength once again, and they are now on a 4 game-winning streak.
“Playing in the mud was electric. It sparked the energy that the team needed, and we performed well as a whole,” said Senior Linebacker and Tight End Matthew LaProcido. Senior Safety and Wide receiver Dawson Eliot also had some positive thoughts on the game and the year as a whole: “In my opinion, the sky is the limit for us as a group and I’m super excited to see where this year goes, because I truly believe that we have everything necessary to win another state championship.”
As you can see, the Dawgs football team is off to a great start and shows no signs of slowing down. Their next game is at home this Friday, September 29th, at 7 p.m. They are heavy favorites to improve to 5-0 on the season against West Deptford but have a tough second half of the regular season ahead of them. The hype around this team is ever-growing, and for good reason, they will surely be fun to watch in the upcoming weeks/months as they look to add another state championship to their resume.
