The Executive Student Council elections for the 2024-2025 school year were held Friday, April 12th in the auditorium. Candidates made speeches for the positions of president, vice president, historian, treasurer, and secretary after several weeks of campaigning, via posters throughout the school.
The winners are as follows: Dashiel Lin (President), Vivian Hoff (Vice President), Ryan Kopp (Historian), Ian Mazzei (Treasurer), and Logan Wolschina (Secretary).
“I had a lot of past experience in student council so I felt that speaking with my classmates in large groups prepared me very well,” Woldschina said when asked about how she got ready for the big day. “I also talked to some of the current members of Executive Student Council to get a better understanding of what my job would entail.” Every candidate had impressive involvement in Student Council beforehand and is eager to make their mark on school activities next year.
When discussing such plans, there were multiple mentions of improving the school’s beloved Spirit Week, from both VP Hoff and Secretary Wolschina. “I am excited to write my list for the HMHS Spirit Week scavenger hunt!” commented Wolschina, in addition to expressing her excitement about seeing a new angle of Student Council in her executive position. All in all, the winners for the 2024-2025 school year have big plans for a positive impact, backed up with hard work and years of experience.
