The 2024 Disney Senior Trip was a magical success, and now I am back to break it down.
The seniors left on Friday, April 12 to embark on the trip; this day felt longer than most with all 195 seniors waiting to be in the warmth of Florida and within the parks of Disney. At the end of the day Friday, we had finally arrived at our hotel, with the entire trip broken down for us. At this point, we learned of the freedom we had and the opportunities that were ahead. With every day having the same layout, each day came with new surprises being at different parks, going on different rides, and eating different food. These days were long-lasting, being 10-14 hours in the parks per day with students having walked around 35,000 steps per day, but the students were fully ready to go until the last step into their beds at the end of each day.
On the first day, we started by visiting the Animal Kingdom with thrilling and ominous rides like Mt. Everest, or the river rapids to cool everyone down in the hot Florida weather. Following that we went to one of my personal favorite Hollywood studios to witness the Tower of Terror or the newer and popular Galaxy’s Edge, a Star Wars-themed mini-park within Hollywood studios, this contained two rides and a handful of minishops with characters at every corner.
The next day we got the chance to go to Typhoon Lagoon, a Disney-owned water park with a dozen waterslides at our disposal. Following that was a trip back to the hotel to get ready and dressed nicely for a night in Epcot, where rides like the phenomenal Guardians of the Galaxy were. This happened to be a personal favorite of mine as well as many of my fellow students. This night was taken by many to make a nice reservation in a restaurant and “country” of whatever group you were with. Along with eleven of my friends, we ventured to Germany to eat in a large buffet-style restaurant with live music and even better food. This was one of the two nights that had ended with a fireworks show in the park.
On the third day we took a small break from Disney to visit Universal, with loads of new rides and experiences, such as going into Hogwarts to fly through the school following Harry Potter on his broomstick or for some to bring up the courage to go on the Velocicoaster, this day ended earlier than most with Universal closing earlier. This gave the students a chance to go back to the hotel, gather their energy, and relax before the longest and last day of the activities on the trip.
That last day finally came and with that, the Magic Kingdom. We rode Tron and Space Mountain, two fast and greatly thrilling rides, as well as had the chance to go back to Epcot to do anything you missed or if you wanted to go back and do it again. This finalized the 2024 Senior Trip with both the chaperones as well as the students recognizing this trip as one of the best parts of the 2024 school year.
