On February 25th, Haddonfield’s 50/50 Club hosted an art show at the Haddonfield Fortnightly. The theme this year was “Through a Woman’s Eyes – Women in STEAM”. This show featured a variety of different art pieces from female students and other members of the community. Alexandra Himmel (‘24) hosted this event and stated that this showcase helped to “amplify women’s voices that are pushed away”. Some notable accomplishments include Mia Bompensa’s (‘24) children’s book The Monster in My Mirror which won the best photography/mixed media award. Additionally, Giulia Leonetti (‘24) won the award for the best student art. It was the fifth time the 50/50 Club has put on this show and they raised $10,000! Ms. Gammie stated, “It is gratifying to see students plan the publicity, communication, and setup. It is rare to have students so involved from start to finish in a charity event and do it so successfully”. The event even included student performances such as HMHS’ student-led acapella group, Co-ed!
