A Haddonfield Memorial High School alumnus wrote, directed, and produced a film starring current HMHS students. Antony Post, a current Chapman University student, has been passionate about film making since he was 12. He has been greatly involved in the theater scene in Haddonfield.
“The Haddonfield Theater Arts Center, in particular, gave me the confidence and support to achieve this, not only fundraising for me with a special game night since, but they were the first people to hire me as a filmmaker when we made three feature-length movies during the pandemic,” Post said.
His current piece he is working on is called Nova, “a generational story, and [he hopes] can connect to parents and children alike. Divorce is a scary truth for so many families, and I hope this film makes it less scary,” Post explained.
This project includes many other Haddonfield Alumni and current students. The 2020 graduating class included Matt Eyles who worked as the composer, Zoé Murray as the animator, and Joey Rihl as the concept artist. The current high school students are Lily and Sara Mullins who play identical versions of each other in the wake of Nova’s parent’s divorce. These were just a few members of the over twenty-person crew that filmed in Southern California.
“The film is expected to be released in 2024, likely available to see on YouTube or Vimeo,” Post remarked.
