The robotics club is a brand new club that many were eager to join. Students who are interested in engineering, coding, mathematics, and other stem related subjects were all welcomed to join. They meet twice a week working hard on their robots for competition. Recently they have been able to make their robots move and are currently working on an arm. This club gives many people a chance to show off their amazing skills in STEM.
Fiona Keenan, a member of the robotics club, explains, “The club is for everybody, everyone is welcomed. We accept people at all levels, we just want people who have a passion for robotics and want to learn something new.” Although the idea of building a robot can be intimidating, all members are welcoming to any new members who are just ready to learn.
The videographer, Maeve Hurly, says, “Watching how they work and interact is amazing. To see many students connecting with each other over a club not previously offered is a great way to improve the school community.” Because of how often they meet and how interactive it is, students from every grade are able to come together through the connection of their passions.
The club’s first competition is this December on the 9th, all students are encouraged to come, watch, and support the team.
