In honor of the Halloween season being over, it is only right to talk about one of the best stomach-churning Halloween movies out there, Saw (2004). Oncologist Lawerence Gordan (Cary Elwes), and photographer Adam Stanheight (Leigh Whannell) awaken chained to pipes in a disgusting bathroom. As they begin to talk, Doctor Gordan realizes he and Adam have been trapped by the killer with the title of “Jigsaw” and have been put into the game of life or death.
This movie constantly had me asking questions and trying to figure out who Jigsaw was, (I got it correct in the end). This movie was an absolute masterpiece, the acting, the scenes, the storyline, everything about it caught my eye. The thing that makes this movie even better is someone had to come up with the games. For example, they have to saw off their foot to get out of the chains or they have to stick their hand in acid to get a key out, this game is in the third Saw movie. It just amazes me how someone, James Wan and Leigh Wannell, came up with these revolting challenges for characters to endure.
While some people may not agree with me, I think that the Saw franchise is one of the best out there. Every movie has me interested and has me trying to figure everything out. There are so many iconic scenes and lines that people know such as, “Game Over” and “I want to play a game”. Plus, I think it will end up just like the Scream movies, it will become a classic and I hope one day my kids will ask me, “Have you ever seen the movie Saw?’
