Fly, Eagles, Fly

Fly, Eagles, Fly

On September 11, The Philadelphia Eagles battled the Detroit Lions for their season opener. The Lions were drawing a lot of attention due to them being this season’s feature on the show HBO Hard Knocks. They have suffered many historically bad seasons but now have a new and improved roster. People figured the Lions might finally turn it around. They didn’t. Jalen Hurts dominated like never before leading the birds to a 38-35 victory in Detroit.

That was a sign of things to come. The very next week the Eagles had their home opener against the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night. A complete domination on both sides of the ball left Birds fans very happy. The defense dominated throughout the game, especially Pro-bowl corner Darius Slay who took on the challenge of guarding Justin Jefferson, holding him to 1 catch for 6 yards along with 2 interceptions and leading the Eagles to a 24-7 win

One of our very own classmates, Drew Washburn, whose dad is the outside linebackers coach for the Eagles, had this to say about the bird’s hot start: “We have surprised everyone so far this season, I think the best is yet to come.” He, along with everyone else, couldn’t be more excited about this year’s football season in Philly.
